Historic Post Office Window Restoration Project

The Melfort Preservation and Rehabilitation Committee is continuing conservation and restoration of the Melfort Historic Post Office with the removal and repair or replacement of all windows on the main floor of the building.  Have your name engraved on a heritage postal box...a tax deductible legacy gift for family and friends.

Power Station 100th Anniversary

Come one! Come all! Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Power Station 1913 - 2013
Melfort and District Museum, 401 Melfort Street West. 
Celebrate your heritage and have fun! 
Sunday, August 18 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m.

1:00 - 6:00 pm  Food Booth ($6 BBQ - burger/hot dog, dessert and a drink)
1:00 - 2:30 pm  Wagon Rides - heavy horses
2:00 - 5:00 pm  Interactive Tours - "When We Come West" drama troupe, Melfort pioneers
2:00 - 4:00 pm  Old-Fashioned Games & Races in the Park
3:00 - 3:30 pm  Hymn Sing in the Church - organist and choir
3:30 - 4:00 pm  Official Ceremony of commemoration of the Power Station
4:00 - 5:00 pm  Musical Entertainment in the gazebo - local singers and musicians
6:00 - 8:00 pm  Old-Time Dance in the Schoolhouse - featuring Irene and The Goodnighters

Throughout the afternoon:  
- Demonstrations - grist mill, blacksmith shop, sawmill
- making ice cream, face painting, etc.
- antique cars and trucks on display and the Bickle 1931 Firetruck
- people on-site dressed in pioneer costume
