Historic Post Office Window Restoration Project

The Melfort Preservation and Rehabilitation Committee is continuing conservation and restoration of the Melfort Historic Post Office with the removal and repair or replacement of all windows on the main floor of the building.  Have your name engraved on a heritage postal box...a tax deductible legacy gift for family and friends.

Notice to All Residents
FALL CLEAN UP WEEK
 
 
The Department of Works & Utilities wishes to inform all residents that Fall Clean Up will be held October 6 - 14, 2017.
 
Please note sanitary landfill fees will be waived for all Melfort residents. No household furniture, appliances or construction material will be picked up and landfill fees for this type of refuse WILL NOT BE WAIVED.
 
Our contractor will pick up all garbage, such as tree limbs, leaves, grass and garden refuse at the front street.  Fall Clean-up items must be out for pick up on your regular garbage day.  Residents with Friday pick-up day will be picked up on Friday, October 13. All tree limbs must be under 4’ in length, branches must be tied in bundles and leaves and grass must be in a waste container or bagged in a leaf & garden (see-through) clear bag.
 
Please Note: All leaves and grass must be bagged in clear bags. Loose refuse will NOT be collected. Limbs must be cut into proper lengths and bundled or they will NOT be picked up.
 
LANDFILL HOURS OF OPERATION
 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Closed on Sunday
 
REMINDER
The landfill will be open on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, October 9, 2017
 

The Compost Site will be open for garden waste, leaves and grass clipping disposal until Saturday, October 21, 2017:  528 Central Street West - Tues - Sat from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
