Melfort Council Appoints New Manager

On behalf of City Council, Mayor Doug Terry announced the appointment of Michael Hotsko as the new City Manager.
Michael is currently the City Manager in Melville and will be taking up his new responsibilities effective August 7th. Mayor Terry said, “We are pleased to have Michael, with his years of municipal experience, to lead our management team. Council looks forward to working with him to continue to strengthen our service delivery and embark on new directions for the benefit of all residents of the city”.
Current City Manager, John Wade retires at the end of June. Mayor Terry expressed Council’s thanks to John for his years of service to the community. “John always had the best interests of the City in mind and worked to improve the City’s administration and policies. We wish him all the best in his retirement years”.
Mayor Terry also announced that Heather Audette, City Clerk, will take on the responsibilities of City Manager for the interim.
Council received many applications and interviewed candidates from Alberta and Saskatchewan for the position.
