Canadian Cancer Society (North East Unit)
The Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. This is done through research, education, patient services, advocacy and fund-raising to support these programs. The Board of Directors meets approximately 6 times per year and volunteers are always welcome.

The Kelsey Trail Health Authority serves the City of Melfort and the surrounding area. There are over 43,500 people in the region served by hospitals in the communities of Melfort, Tisdale, Nipawin, and Hudson Bay. There are medical clinics in many of the smaller communities. Melfort has most medical services available to the city in the areas of hospital, emergency, long-term care, home care, mental health and addictions, rehabilitation, and community health services. A district clinic is located in Melfort providing programs and services for people with mental health problems and mental illness. The services include assessment, counseling, treatment, and consultation services. Treatment and prevention services are available for those affected by an addiction to alcohol and/or drugs or by gambling problems. Integrated care management provides support for individuals with behavioral problems.
