Fire Fighters Prayer

A Fire Fighter's Prayer

Whenever I am called to duty, God
Whenever flames may rage
Give me the strength to save some life
Whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout
And quickly and efficiently
Put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling
And give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect his property.

And if according to Your Will
I have to lose my life
Please bless with your protecting hand
My children and my wife.

Outdoor Fire Pits

The City of Melfort allows the construction and installation of outdoor fire pits upon application and approval.   People interested in installing or constructing an outdoor fire pit should first obtain a copy of the Fire Pit Permit & Regulations from City Hall. A written permit is required before installation can begin. This permit must be renewed on an annual basis.

For more information regarding the use of outdoor fire pits, please contact the Fire Chief at 306-752-5911.
