Agricultural Society

The Melfort Ag Society promotes culture, sport, useful arts, agriculture, entertainment, horticulture, and the 4-H movement in the Melfort area. The Society is most noted for hosting their annual Fair and Exhibition every July. Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month, except for July & December.

Air Cadets - RCACS #171 Squadron
|
The Air Cadets develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership. The program promotes physical fitness, and stimulates the interest of youth in the air activities of the Canadian Forces. The cadets meet every Tuesday from 7:00-9:30 p.m. at MUCC (September-June). The program is available to anyone between the ages 12 and19 years.

Doll-Fins Water Exercise & Therapy
|
This program is open to all seniors interested in maintaining or improving their physical mobility. Doctor and Physiotherapist referrals are required of any person with physical disabilities. Group sessions are in the Palace Leisure Pool every Tuesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. Physiotherapists are present on an ongoing basis. SPRA certified.

Figure Skating Club - Melfort

The Melfort Figure Skating Club provides instruction in both the Canskate and CanFigureskate programs. The Canskate Program is for any skater, power skater, basic skater, figure skater, or hockey skater. After the proficiency test, the skater may make a choice of which sport he/she wishes. The next step, CanFigureskate, is also a recreational program designed to serve the skater right through to adult age. The skater in the C.F.S.A. Program has three choices; the test system, competitive, or both.

Melfort & District Curling Club

The Curling Club owns and operates the curling rink in Melfort. The ice surface accommodates 6 sheets of artificial ice and can be used for community or private functions in the off-season. The rink also has kitchen and lounge facilities. An elected Board of Directors governs the Curling Club with monthly meetings. The Curling Club was host to the 2005 Provincial Men’s Curling Championship.

Music for Young Children teaches music appreciation to children ages 3-10 via piano skills, rhythm ensembles, vocal training and various games and activities. Lessons are 1 hour in duration, once a week for 3 - 36 weeks. Scheduling of lessons is Tuesday to Thursday between 3:30 & 8:00 p.m. Preschool (10 week program) is once per week for 45 minutes. Scheduling times are early evening (fall session/winter session).
