Agricultural Society

The Melfort Ag Society promotes culture, sport, useful arts, agriculture, entertainment, horticulture, and the 4-H movement in the Melfort area. The Society is most noted for hosting their annual Fair and Exhibition every July. Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month, except for July & December.

Air Cadets - RCACS #171 Squadron

The Air Cadets develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership. The program promotes physical fitness, and stimulates the interest of youth in the air activities of the Canadian Forces. The cadets meet every Tuesday from 7:00-9:30 p.m. at MUCC (September-June). The program is available to anyone between the ages 12 and19 years.

Badminton Club - Melfort

The Badminton Club provides recreational badminton once per week (Wednesday evenings), September through April. This badminton is strictly recreational although a competitive tournament is held every year in April.

Cross Country Ski Club - Melfort

The Cross Country Ski Club promotes active living through cross-country skiing. The club maintains the trails at the Melfort South Campground and the trails northeast of Gronlid. The club also provides clinics throughout the winter.

The Dance Centre

Located at 317 Bemister Avenue South

To Dance Centre provides qualified instruction in ballet, jazz and tap dance to ages four years all the way to adult (recreational and competitive). Classes are held Monday to Thursday, from September to May, with a year-end finale on Mother's Day!

Doll-Fins Water Exercise & Therapy

This program is open to all seniors interested in maintaining or improving their physical mobility. Doctor and Physiotherapist referrals are required of any person with physical disabilities. Group sessions are in the Palace Leisure Pool every Tuesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. Physiotherapists are present on an ongoing basis. SPRA certified.

Figure Skating Club - Melfort

The Melfort Figure Skating Club provides instruction in both the Canskate and CanFigureskate programs. The Canskate Program is for any skater, power skater, basic skater, figure skater, or hockey skater. After the proficiency test, the skater may make a choice of which sport he/she wishes. The next step, CanFigureskate, is also a recreational program designed to serve the skater right through to adult age. The skater in the C.F.S.A. Program has three choices; the test system, competitive, or both.

Girl Guides Association - Melfort

The Girl Guide Association helps girls and young women become responsible citizens, able to give leadership and service to the community whether local, national or global. We achieve this through fun, friendship and camping. The groups meet weekly.

The Melfort Gymnastics Club provides instruction to children and youth 4 years and over, in recreational and competitive gymnastics. Children work towards badges and various recreational meets are organized. Class is held every Monday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the North East Leisure Centre. (September-April)

Judo Club - Melfort

The Melfort Judo Club promotes the martial art of judo to develop technical skills needed to pursue judo as a recreational and/or competitive sport. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays at 207 Broadway Avenue North (6:30-7:30 p.m. beginners, 7:30-9:00 p.m. adult and advanced).

Library - Melfort Public Library

Located at 106 Crawford Avenue West

Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm. Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday CLOSED. The Library Board meets seven times per year.

Melfort & District Curling Club

Located at 110 Crawford Avenue West

The Curling Club owns and operates the curling rink in Melfort. The ice surface accommodates 6 sheets of artificial ice and can be used for community or private functions in the off-season. The rink also has kitchen and lounge facilities. An elected Board of Directors governs the Curling Club with monthly meetings. The Curling Club was host to the 2005 Provincial Men’s Curling Championship.

Melfort Minor Sports Association

The purpose of the Melfort & District Minor Sports Association is to provide programs and organized sports for all children 18 years of age and under in the Melfort area. These programs include ball, soccer, hockey, basic skating, figure skating, swimming and lacrosse.

The Repeater Group promotes amateur radio and public service communications and operates a VHF repeater in Melfort. Assistance is available to individuals of any age interested in studying for an amateur radio license. The club meets as needed.

The Minus One Club organizes social activities for widowed, divorced or separated adults. Dances are held at the Beatty Community Centre. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month.

Music for Young Children

Music for Young Children teaches music appreciation to children ages 3-10 via piano skills, rhythm ensembles, vocal training and various games and activities. Lessons are 1 hour in duration, once a week for 3 - 36 weeks. Scheduling of lessons is Tuesday to Thursday between 3:30 & 8:00 p.m. Preschool (10 week program) is once per week for 45 minutes. Scheduling times are early evening (fall session/winter session).

Melfort Senior Citizen's Club

The Club meets every Wednesday. The club also organizes and participates in whist and crib. The first Wednesday of the month is potluck and the last Wednesday is birthday cake. The Centre is open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Visitors are always welcome.

Melfort Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do teaches self-defense as well as discipline and self-confidence. Classes are available for all ages. The Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. In addition, they also offer an aerobic workout that will get you in shape and teach you self-defense.
