The Northern Lights Palace

The Northern Lights Palace is located at 110 MacLeod Avenue West. The arena is operated from August to May and available year round for Concerts, Cabarets, Trade Shows, Craft Shows, etc. The leisure pool is open year round except for a brief shutdown period in September for yearly maintenance.

  • Concessions - One main concession located in the lobby accessible by both the arena and leisure pool, and two concourse satellites in the arena.
  • Dressing Rooms - One Melfort Junior Hockey Association (private) and one other located on the north side with direct access to the players box. There are also six others located on the south side of the arena.
  • Elevator from the main floor to the lower level.
  • Ice Size - 85' X 200' (17000 Sq. Ft.)
  • Seating Capacity - 1807 individual moulded seats, 2402 for a concert event.
  • Parking - 185 stalls and 1 bus stall.
  • First Aid Room located on lower level.
  • Score Clock - Computerized 4-sided clock with penalty time, shots on net and memory storage. Fully retractable.
  • Sound System - Complete surround sound. Acoustically treated ceiling and walls.

Melfort is proud of the Melfort Mustangs of the Saskatchewan Junior 'A' Hockey League (SJHL) who call the Northern Lights Palace home. Pictured below is the 1995-1996 team. This team won the Silver Medal in the 1996 Royal Bank Cup, the national Junior 'A' Championship.
